Kala Jashaan (India Festival)

The first “Kala Jashaan Festival”” will be held January 25 & 26, 2012 at Gyaan Manch and Birla Sabhaghar in Kolkata India.  Known as one of India”s treasured centers of  classical arts, Kolkata will host some of the finest vocalists, instrumentalists and dancers in India.

The festival is being dedicated to honor the late kathak master Pt. Ram Narayan Mishra and will  promote the appreciation for Indian classical arts amoung a new generation specifically offering opportunites for youth participation and performance. The Festival also aims to showcase the creativity and flexibility of Indian classical art forms while maintaining their traditional teachings.

Hosted by Ram Narayan Sangeet Kala Kendar (www.Nritya.Asia) , the Kala Jashaan Festival brings the artistic traditions of India to a new generation of indians and cultivates a passionate environment for the development and progression of these art forms.  Local vocal, and instrumental schools and artists will be featured; as well as major artists from across India.
